Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration becauseit supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The purpose of the Freshmen Academy is to successfully transition 9th graders into high school by meeting their academic, social and emotional needs.
The core teachers meet weekly to discuss how to support and ease their students through their first year allowing for an all school dynamic change as they continue their high school education.
The upperclassmen cut through our hallways during lunch, disrupting our learning sessions. In our experience, the distraction causes students to lose focus and be not so willing to participate.
The stanchions will help us deter them and redirect them to use alternate routes.
