What is the difference in Polaris Ranger models? ›

The primary difference between RANGER 570 and RANGER 570 SP (standard performance) is size. RANGER 570 is in our Full-Size UTV SxS category, whereas RANGER 570 SP is in our mid-size category.

Both the Polaris Ranger 1000 and the Polaris Ranger 1000 XP are capable of towing up to 2,500 pounds. However, the Polaris Ranger 1000 XP offers a slightly higher payload capacity at 1,575 pounds, while the Polaris Ranger 1000 supports a total payload of 1,500 pounds. The XP can handle heavier loads with greater ease.

Due to its larger size and more advanced suspension, the Polaris Ranger 1000 generally offers a more comfortable ride than the Polaris Ranger 570. The Ranger 1000 has a longer wheelbase and wider track, which means a smoother ride over rough terrain.

Think of it like transmission gears, a SOHC has a smaller turning radius, like a first gear, while a DOHC's radius is larger and won't make a ton of torque until it gets up to speed. The other advantage of a SOHC is that there are less moving parts, meaning cheaper building and repair costs.
